Top Backgammon Players Claim State Fair Honors

The best backgammon players from across the state put their skills to the test in the Backgammon Tournament, held Saturday, August 10, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

In the Experienced Division, David Nelmark of Urbandale won first place. Tim Wieland of Des Moines claimed second place and Bill Steffen of Pleasant Hill earned third place.

In the Inexperienced Division of competition, Mike Taylor of West Des Moines won first place. Mike Davis of Coon Rapids earned second place and Keith Maynes of Waukee claimed third place.
