Coffee Creativity Earns State Fair Honors

Ann Gillotti of Ankeny won first place in the Culinary Coffee Creations competition judged Friday, August 9, at the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Jodi Brady of Runnells claimed second place and Pamela Reynolds of Norwalk earned third place.

Contestants were challenged to use coffee as featured ingredient in any food item that is not a cake or beverage.

Entries were judged on taste, best use of coffee and appearance.

The Iowa State Fair Food Department is the largest of any state fair in the country. There were 140 divisions, 726 classes and over 6,400 entries at this year’s Fair. Food Department judging is held in the Elwell Family Food Center.
