Iowa State Fair Themed Lottery Scratch Game Includes Big Cash Prizes, Concert Prize Packages, and a Live Game Show

It’s a partnership built over almost 40 years and celebrated in 2024 with a statewide scratch ticket promotion and a live game show on the opening day of the 2024 Iowa State Fair.

Fair Fever Scratch Ticket Promotion
Players who buy tickets to the Iowa State Fair scratch game have a chance to win instant prizes from $5 up to $50,000. They also can enter any nonwinning tickets in the game into the lottery’s Fair Fever promotion that begins Tuesday, April 16, 2024, and will give away an additional $1 million in guaranteed cash prizes along with dozens of Iowa State Fair Grandstand concert series prize packages for performances at the 2024 Iowa State Fair, where the Iowa Lottery is the Grandstand sponsor.

Live Lottery Game Show
The promotion will conclude with a live lottery game show on the opening day of this year’s Iowa State Fair (August 8, 2024), where 20 contestants will compete for a total of $1 million in guaranteed prizes. The final contestant in the game show will have a chance to win up to $5 million.

To enter the promotion, Iowa Lottery players must join or already be members of the lottery’s free VIP Club. The promotion’s entry period runs from April 16, 2024, through 9:59 a.m. on July 17, 2024.

The decades-long relationship between the Iowa State Fair and the Iowa Lottery began 39 years ago with a kick-off celebration on Aug. 22, 1985, at the Iowa State Fairgrounds to mark the inaugural day of state lottery ticket sales. In the mid-1990s, Iowa Lottery proceeds were dedicated for four years to funding capital improvements on the Iowa State Fairgrounds. Among the projects that received lottery funding was the extensive 1997 renovation of the Iowa State Fair Grandstand. Since then, the Iowa Lottery has held many events at the Iowa State Fair through the years, including hosting a Powerball^® drawing on the Grand Concourse in 2006. In recent years, the Iowa Lottery has sponsored the annual Veterans Day at the Iowa State Fair.
